Embark on a two-day journey across the wonders of Lake Titicaca. Begin with a visit to the fascinating Uros Islands, floating on the lake and constructed entirely from totora reeds. Meet the Uros community, learn about their daily life and the traditional methods used to build their islands, homes, and boats. You’ll also have the chance to take an optional ride on a reed raft.
Continue to Amantani Island, where you’ll be welcomed by local host families. Enjoy a traditional lunch and later hike to the ceremonial temples of Pachatata and Pachamama for panoramic views of the lake. In the evening, take part in a cultural celebration with music and dance hosted by the community.
On the second day, head to Taquile Island, famed for its fine textiles recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. Stroll through its picturesque paths, visit the artisan market, and enjoy a scenic lunch by the water.
In the afternoon, return to Puno by motorboat and conclude your enriching journey with a drop-off at your hotel—carrying with you unforgettable memories of Lake Titicaca’s culture, landscapes, and traditions.
Itinerary
Begin your two-day journey with an unforgettable visit to the Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca. We’ll pick you up from your hotel and head to the port of Puno, where a motorboat awaits to take us to these unique floating islands. During the visit, you'll discover the traditional methods used to construct the islands, homes, and boats from totora reeds, and gain insight into the daily life of the Uros people. You’ll also have the option to take a ride on a traditional reed raft.
Next, we head to Amantani Island, one of Lake Titicaca’s natural gems. Upon arrival, local families will warmly welcome you and host you in their homes. After enjoying a typical lunch, we’ll take a scenic hike to the island’s hilltops to visit the sacred temples of Pachatata and Pachamama, where you’ll take in breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding landscape.
In the evening, you'll share a homemade dinner with your host family and have the chance to participate in a festive cultural evening featuring traditional music and dancing.
After breakfast, we will say goodbye to our host families and head towards Taquile Island. Upon arrival, we will explore this beautiful island known for its artisanal textiles, considered Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. We will take a walk to the center of the island, where we will visit the main square and the artisan market.
You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with spectacular views of the lake. After exploring Taquile, we will return to Puno by motorized boat, arriving in the afternoon. We will drop you off at your hotel, completing an unforgettable cultural and natural experience on Lake Titicaca.
