Itinerary
Our exploration of Cusco begins in the iconic Plaza de Armas, the vibrant heart of the city, where the fusion of Inca foundations and colonial architecture is on full display. We visit the magnificent Cusco Cathedral, renowned for its ornate baroque altars and priceless colonial artworks — including the famous Andean version of the Last Supper.
Next, we head to the Qorikancha, or Temple of the Sun — one of the most sacred temples of the Inca Empire. Built in honor of the Sun god, this important religious site was later overlaid by the Convent of Santo Domingo, yet the original Inca stonework remains, a powerful testament to Inca engineering and cultural legacy.
Leaving the city center, we take a short drive to explore Cusco’s surrounding archaeological wonders. We begin with Sacsayhuamán, a monumental fortress made of massive stone blocks masterfully placed without mortar. From there, we continue to Q’enqo, a ceremonial complex of carved rock passages and underground chambers.
Our journey continues to Puka Pukara, a military outpost believed to have served as a checkpoint and resting place for Inca nobility, and concludes at Tambomachay, a tranquil site known for its ritual fountains and deep spiritual ties to water worship.
After this enriching tour through Cusco’s most important historical and spiritual sites, we return to the city, having uncovered the deep heritage and cultural brilliance of the ancient capital of the Incas.
